Position Summary
The Director of Anesthesia Clinical & Ops Integration provides strategic and operational leadership for the launch, integration, and stabilization of anesthesia practices across the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role leads the clinical and operational integration of newly awarded anesthesia business and serves as the interim Operations lead during early program implementation, ensuring operational stability, effective service delivery, and a successful transition to permanent operational leadership. Working closely with clinical and operational leadership, recruiting, and central support teams, the Director ensures programs launch efficiently, meet performance expectations, and are positioned for long-term clinical, operational, and financial success. This role also develops standardized integration frameworks, tools, and playbooks to support scalable organizational growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Integration Strategy & Program Launch
- Lead the operational and clinical strategy and execution of anesthesia program launches and practice integrations.
- Direct site readiness planning includes staffing models, call structures, scheduling frameworks, and operational workflows.
- Coordinate pre-launch discovery processes to understand hospital culture, clinical expectations, and perioperative operational structures.
- Ensure all operational and clinical components are in place to support a successful Day 1 program launch.
- Lead the clinical and operational integration of newly awarded anesthesia business and serve as interim Operations lead during program launch and stabilization until permanent operational leadership is established.
Operational Leadership & Program Stabilization
Serve as interim operational and clinical leader for newly launched programs until permanent operations leadership is established.
- Identify operational or clinical risks, staffing challenges, workflow gaps, or service delivery issues and implement corrective strategies.
- Establish structures that support stable anesthesia coverage, clinical collaboration, and efficient perioperative throughput.
- Monitor operational and clinical performance, including staffing coverage, utilization, and efficiency during the stabilization phase.
- Act as the interim Operations leader during early program implementation, ensuring operational stability, effective service delivery, and a structured transition to long-term operations leadership.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Partner with Clinical Integration leadership to operationalize the anesthesia care team model and clinical delivery framework.
- Coordinate integration efforts across recruiting, credentialing, revenue cycle, IT, HR, compliance, and finance and hospital partners.
- Ensure alignment with corporate and hospital policies, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.
Hospital & Physician Partnership
- Serve as a primary operational liaison with hospital administration and physician partners during integration and early program operations.
- Establish strong working relationships with health system leadership and perioperative stakeholders.
- Address operational or clinical issues impacting service delivery, provider engagement, or hospital satisfaction.
Transition to Long-Term Operations
- Lead the transition of newly integrated programs to permanent operational and clinical leadership once stability is achieved.
- Ensure operational and clinical workflows, staffing models, and program structures in collaboration with clinical and permanent Ops leadership are clearly documented and sustainable.
- Support long-term operational leaders with a structured handoff to ensure continuity and program success.
Integration Program Development
- Develop standardized Anesthesia integration playbooks, launch frameworks, and operational readiness tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve integration speed, consistency, and outcomes across the organization.
- Support strategic growth initiatives by strengthening the organization’s launch program capabilities.
Team Leadership
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of the Anesthesia Clinical & Operations Integration Coordinator and other integration team members supporting program launches.
- Mentor and develop integration leaders responsible for on-site operational and clinical activation and stabilization.
- Promote a disciplined, operationally and clinically focused integration approach that ensures consistency across all program launches.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive healthcare operations and/or clinical leadership experience, preferably in anesthesia services, perioperative operations, or physician practice management.
