We are hiring for a daytime and a nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.
Local Team Collaboration:
- Join our close-knit team of 12 physicians and six advanced practice providers (APPs) at Via Christi St. Francis.
- The 360-bed hospital is an open ICU with intensivist support.
- Work alongside clinicians from diverse backgrounds and experience levels who collaborate effectively and enjoy spending time together professionally and socially.
- Our day-to-day culture fosters a team atmosphere in a large, shared office space supported by a multidisciplinary patient care model.
- We prioritize open communication, involving team members in decisions and encouraging them to champion projects that improve care, such as updating order sets.
- Many clinicians serve on hospital committees, including the medical executive committee, strengthening relationships with specialists and our supportive administration. At the core of everything we do is a commitment to a strong work ethic, honesty, and patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified/eligible internal medicine or family medicine physicians.
- J1 candidates invited to apply; access to Sound’s in-house visa specialists as well as our licensing and credentialing experts; all required filing fees for the visa are paid and services covered
- Accepting new graduates, residents, and fellows.
Scheduling:
- We offer flexible scheduling.
- Our retention rate is high, and we work collaboratively within our team to ensure coverage for time off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a wide variety of cases at a large community-based hospital, including admissions and cross-coverage, with the support of a robust multispecialty team.
- We leverage our advanced resources and specialist availability to provide care for patients transferred from smaller rural hospitals requiring a higher level of expertise.
- Collaborate closely with residents, contributing to a teaching and mentorship environment.
- Work in coordination with an intensivist team that handles all procedures, allowing you to focus on patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Utilize Cerner with Dragon for efficient dictation and access to our internal informatics platform for streamlined workflow and communication.

- Some clinicians volunteer their time in low-income clinics in the community or through the university. We also take medical students and residents on our service to provide volunteer teaching.
- Via Christi is a not-for-profit health system, so many resources are available for the uninsured or the underinsured.
