We are building our EM Team at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC, with a start date of September 1, 2026. We have Medical Director, Full-time, Part-time, and PRN MD/DO and APP positions available.
Local Team Collaboration:
- Lead our close-knit team of 10 physicians and 6 APPs at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center.
- Work alongside our dedicated providers, committed to providing patient-centered care in collaboration with all stakeholders in a positive manner.
- Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center is a 136-bed hospital in Southeast Washington, D.C. The Emergency Department has 32 beds dedicated to the Adult ER, with Children’s National Hospital staffing the pediatric emergency department.
Qualifications:
- Board certified/eligible Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience.
- Medical Directors must be ABEM/ABOEM certified with at least one (1) year of medical leadership experience in a similar or larger volume department.
- Certifications Required: ATLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling:
- 40 hours of Physician coverage and 24 hours of APP coverage daily.
- The monthly workload for full-time positions is 120 hours, while part-time entails 80 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- The EM team responds to floor codes.
- The Sound hospitalist team is part of the Rapid Response and Code team.
- Cerner is our EMR.

- This position is based in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, one of the nation’s most dynamic and diverse regions. The DC area offers a unique blend of government, healthcare, academic, and private-sector innovation, with easy access to leading institutions and decision-makers.
- Employees benefit from proximity to major transportation hubs (Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and Union Station), as well as a robust public transit system (WMATA Metro and bus lines). The region features a wide range of vibrant neighborhoods, excellent schools, and abundant cultural amenities—including museums, performing arts venues, parks, and world-class dining. With close ties to Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland, the DC area provides flexibility in commuting and living options, supporting both professional growth and a high quality of life.
- Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center opened in April 2025 and replaced United Medical Center. It is located on the campus of St. Elizabeth's Hospital near the Congress Heights neighborhood of Ward 8. The $434 million hospital started construction in 2022, funded by the District of Columbia government.
Compensation:
- Competitive 1099 compensation.
- Competitive rate with an additional stipend for the medical director
- Commencement bonus available for full-time commitment.
- Independent Contractor status for MD/DO.
- W2 Status for APPs.
- Paid malpractice with tail coverage.
