Due to program growth, we are expanding our Kaweah Health Intensivist team by adding two full-time nocturnists. Kaweah Health is a community-based teaching hospital that sits at the gateway to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Our central location, affordable housing, and access to the outdoors make Kaweah ideal for those interested in hiking, biking, and all things outdoors due to the year-round temperate weather.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our ICU team of 10 physicians and 4 advanced practitioners at Kaweah Health.
  • Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team within the unit to collaboratively deliver exceptional patient care, leveraging a diverse mix of clinical practice expertise.

Qualifications:

  • We are seeking board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO) who are committed to excellence in clinical service, are forward-thinking, demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary in the ICU, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member, and perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.
  • Authorized to work in the United States​.

Scheduling:

  • Full-time nocturnist Intensivist position at Kaweah Health.
  • 10 night shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nocturnist Intensivists will rotate through the 21-bed MICU & 20-bed CVICU (i.e. one Intensivist in MICU & one intensivist in CVICU overnight).
  • We are a teaching hospital with Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, Family Medicine, and Surgery residency programs.
  • Utilize Cerner, the hospital’s internal informatics platform to ensure efficient and accurate patient care documentation.

Living and Working in Visalia:

  • Our location is the gateway to the Sierra Mountain Range. We are about an hour from Kings Canyon, Yosemite, and the Sierra National Forrest. Year-round Mediterranean climate with access to excellent hiking and outdoor activities. Overall low cost of living and exceptional schools make for an excellent place to call home.
  • Several team members commute from Fresno/Clovis, a larger community, about 50 minutes north of Visalia.
  • Central Location: Fresno/Clovis/Visalia is a 3-hour drive to Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Luis Obispo.
  • Median home price in Fresno is $375k, $497k in Clovis, & $369k in Visalia

Rewards and Compensation:

  • $275 per hour
  • 1099 position:
    • Commencement Bonus
    • Paid malpractice, including tail coverage.
