Position Summary
The SVP, Strategic Business Development, Health Systems is a senior growth leader responsible for driving new logo expansion with strategic health systems across the country. This executive will develop and lead market-specific pursuit strategies, cultivate trusted C-suite relationships, and quarterback complex enterprise sales efforts that position Sound Physicians as a strategic partner of choice. The role requires a highly consultative, executive-selling approach and the ability to represent the full suite of Sound Physicians solutions in a compelling, integrated way. In close partnership with operations, finance, legal, and clinical leadership, this leader will shape opportunities, structure innovative partnerships, and convert strategic prospects into long-term clients. This role is focused on winning new business and does not own end-to-end expansion within existing accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute national new logo growth strategies focused on strategic health systems and priority enterprise targets
• Build, nurture, and expand senior executive relationships with health system CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, and physician leaders
• Quarterback complex new logo pursuits from early market development through proposal, negotiation, and close
• Lead consultative, executive-level sales conversations that align Sound Physicians’ capabilities to the strategic priorities of prospective health system partners
• Represent and sell the full suite of Sound Physicians solutions, crafting integrated value propositions tailored to enterprise health system needs
• Shape account pursuit strategies, stakeholder mapping, and engagement plans that increase access, credibility, and win probability
• Structure and negotiate creative partnership models and commercial terms that support sustainable, long-term growth
• Partner with finance, legal, operations, and clinical leadership to develop business cases, pricing strategies, and deal structures for new logo opportunities
• Drive a disciplined pipeline of strategic opportunities, with rigorous follow-through, clear milestones, and executive visibility
• Serve as a senior external ambassador for Sound Physicians in industry forums, conferences, and executive meetings
• Inform market strategy by synthesizing customer insights, competitive intelligence, and emerging health system priorities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated ability to identify, open, and convert targeted health systems into new strategic clients through disciplined market development and proactive relationship building
• Proven success leading complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise pursuits from early engagement and solution shaping through negotiation and close
• Deep experience developing and influencing executive relationships with health system CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, and physician leadership
• Strong consultative and executive-selling skills, with the ability to uncover strategic priorities and translate them into differentiated, value-based solutions
• Experience selling integrated, multi-service, or enterprise-wide solutions and articulating a compelling cross-functional value proposition
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience building business cases, shaping pricing strategy, and structuring complex deals
• Experience designing innovative partnership and contract models, including value-based, shared-risk, joint venture, or other strategic arrangements
• Knowledge of health system economics, provider operations, and value-based care, with the ability to align Sound Physicians solutions to enterprise priorities
• Executive presence, strong market credibility, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor in high-stakes customer and industry settings
• Entrepreneurial, resilient, and highly self-directed, with a hunter mentality, sound judgment, and a strong bias for action
• Excellent communicator and cross-functional leader, able to align internal stakeholders across finance, clinical, operations, legal, and executive leadership to win new business
Education and Experience
• Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive success in senior healthcare business development, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships, with a strong track record of winning new logo business
• Additional certifications in healthcare management, value-based care, or business strategy are advantageous
Salary
- This position offers an annual salary range of $200,000-230,000. Exact salary will depend on the candidate’s experience, education and geographic location. Additionally, this position is eligible for a performance based incentive plan.
