ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Summer Intern to join our Payroll team for the summer. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience with payroll processes, data management, compliance tasks, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, and eager to learn how payroll operations support the overall employee experience.
The Details:
This is a full-time remote opportunity. 10-week internship running from early June through August 2026.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, including data entry, audit checks, and validation of employee records.
- Support the team in reviewing timecards, verifying hours worked, and ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state labor regulations.
- Help maintain accurate payroll records by updating employee information, tax forms, and deductions.
- Participate in reconciliation activities, such as checking payroll reports against source data.
- Assist in researching and resolving employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments on payroll-related tasks and projects.
- Support process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, and workflow standardization.
- Complete special projects assigned by the Payroll Director/Payroll Managers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Comfortable with numbers and basic financial concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, and basic formulas).
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2nd or 3rd year or graduating student currently enrolled in an accredited college program
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to protected health information and company financial information
SALARY RANGE
- $17.00-$20.00 hourly. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience, geographical location, and size/complexity of the program being supported.
