Local Team Collaboration:

  • Providence St John’s is a 266-bed state-of-the-art community hospital, comprehensive stroke center, and designated STEMI receiving center. We have a full range of cardiovascular services and are home to the John Wayne Cancer Institute. We have excellent collaboration with the CT Surgery and Neuroscience group. 
  • 23-bed closed ICU that sees all types of critically ill patients including medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiovascular. High acuity, high complexity, patient population.
  • ADC is between 4-10 patients per Intensivist per day.
  • The ICU has a lot of advanced circular support (VA/VV ECMO, impella 5.5).
  • We have surgical oncology fellows who occasionally round in the ICU. We also have Critical Care fellows from UCR do rotations with us.
  • EMR: EPIC

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship critical care experience with prior ICU leadership experience
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting
  • Active California medical license

Scheduling:

  • 12 clinical shifts per month plus 2-3 administrative days per month.
  • We collaborate to manage the schedule as equitably as possible, ensuring intensivists achieve an outstanding work/family life balance.

Compensation and Rewards:
