ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful execution of Sound’s enterprise data and analytics initiatives within the enterprise analytics platform. This role blends Agile facilitation with project ownership, ensuring that cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, BI, QA, Governance, and Product) deliver high-value solutions aligned with business needs. The Technical Project Manager facilitates Agile ceremonies, maintains transparency of progress and risks, and also serves as the point of accountability for the full delivery of assigned projects, ensuring they fit within the broader product roadmap given resource and timeline considerations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and release readiness.
• Maintain visibility into delivery progress through velocity tracking, burndown charts, and issue logs; escalate risks or blockers proactively.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, from scoping through release, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and requirements.
• Partner with Product Analysts and Product Manager to evaluate project ROI, scope, and prioritization, and integrate into the broader roadmap.
• Collaborate with BI, Data Engineering, QA, and Governance teams to plan technical delivery, identify dependencies, and align resources.
• Develop cross-functional processes and tools that improve collaboration across technical teams, from requirements gathering through analytics delivery.
• Track and manage risks, scope changes, and blockers, ensuring transparent communication to leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide regular reporting on delivery status, risks, and timelines to executive stakeholders.
• Apply Agile principles to ensure iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and adoption of best practices across the team.
• Ensure delivery processes are documented, repeatable, and aligned with Sound’s enterprise standards.
• Support alignment with enterprise expectations for disaster recovery, business continuity, issue resolution, RACI modeling, and compliance.
• Define, measure, and monitor KPIs related to delivery success, stakeholder satisfaction, and ROI realization; incorporate findings into process improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong project management skills with proven experience delivering technical projects in data and analytics environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (Azure, Synapse, Databricks, dbt, ADF) and BI tools (Power BI).
• Ability to facilitate Agile delivery, maintain backlog hygiene, and coach teams on Agile best practices.
• Experience estimating project scope, timelines, and resource needs, and integrating with product roadmaps.
• Proficiency with Agile delivery tools (Jira, Confluence, Target Process, Azure DevOps).
• Strong risk management, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive leadership.
• Experience with stakeholder relationship management, including translating business needs into scalable reporting solutions and supporting adoption of analytics across user groups.
• Experience working with healthcare data strongly preferred, particularly within clinical, operational, and revenue cycle domains, including familiarity with data types such as claims, encounters, provider rosters, patient records, and utilization metrics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Agile project management, Scrum facilitation, or technical project delivery.
• Demonstrated success managing delivery of cross-functional projects in enterprise data or BI environments.
