Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit team of nine EM board-certified physicians and three Advanced Practice providers at Samaritan Healthcare.
  • We are a level III trauma center with an annual ED volume of 25,000. We have a great relationship with the hospitalist service and support from general surgery, OB/GYN, radiology, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, GI, and tele neurology.
  • Work alongside our team of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who are supportive and collaborative with other staff and departments.

Qualifications: 

  • Board-certified/Board-eligible Physician Assistant with recent acute care experience
  • Due to the high acuity of patients and autonomy of the role ED experience is required

Scheduling:

  • We understand the importance of work-life balance. Our flexible scheduling allows you to spend quality time with your loved ones or enjoy the outdoors. We cover for each other when needed and strive to accommodate requested days off. Holidays are scheduled equitably.
  • Advanced Practice Provider shifts are 2p-2a and will work with three physicians on their shifts of 7a-7p, 10a-10p, and 7p-7a.

Key Responsibilities:

  • APPs see patients independently and have good support from physicians (a physician will always be on staff during their shift). APPs see all patients in the ED, however physicians manage the sickest patients.
  • Great collaboration among physicians with APPs. Physicians lean on APP staff to run the department while physicians see the most critical patients.
  • APPs work closely with physicians and physicians are very supportive of APPs. Physicians love to teach and collaborate with APPs.

    Start your journey as a new graduate or transition to an unfamiliar role by completing a structured clinical training program focused on developing essential competencies for high-quality patient care. This training is supplemented by a self-directed didactic curriculum to build a knowledge base and support ongoing professional growth.

  • Practicing :

    Continue your career as a practicing clinician by continually expanding your clinical expertise and delivering exemplary patient care. Develop foundational leadership skills and contribute to organizational excellence by engaging in committees and supporting the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Single-site Leadership :

    Assume leadership responsibilities at the practice level as a Lead Advanced Practice Provider, Associate Medical Director, or Medical Director.
