Join Our Kona Team as a Hospitalist – A Role Designed for You

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit team of 9 physicians and 1 nurse practitioner at Kona Community Hospital.
  • Kona Community Hospital is a 94-bed full-service community hospital with 24-hour emergency services.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.
  • New graduates, residents, and fellows are welcome to apply.
  • Open to J1 visa candidates with in-house visa specialists and filing fees covered.

Scheduling:

  • Full-time positions follow a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation.
  • Shifts are 12 hours - 7:00 AM to 7:00PM, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Must be willing to rotate through fair of day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hospitalist responsibilities: ICU coverage in addition to rounding responsibilities.
  • Procedural requirements: intubations, central lines, vent management, arterial lines, stress tests, PIC lines.

Living and Working in Kona:

  • The sunny Kona district stretches for nearly 60 miles, from Kona International Airport to beyond Kealakekua Bay on Hawaii Island’s lava-lined western coast. The heart of Kona is a bustling gathering place just 15 minutes south of Kona International Airport. Home to shops, restaurants, and nightlife, it offers a variety of opportunities and activities for people from all walks of life.
  • Numerous historical and cultural sites and museums throughout West Hawaii provide a perspective on developments that are the legacy of present-day Hawaii. These range from Hawaiian archeological sites such as Mookini Heiau in Kohala to the graceful Hilihe’e Palace and Mokuaikaua Church in Kailua-Kona to Waimea’s Parker Ranch and the modernistic Ellison Onizuka Space Museum at the Kona International Airport.

Rewards and Compensation:

  • Annual salary range of $340,000 to $360,000.
