We are hiring for a Nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit team of 15 physicians and 20 APPs at Fredrick Health Hospital
  • Work alongside a Clinical Performance nurse. We prioritize the longevity of our clinicians and provide comprehensive ancillary services in the ED, including peer recovery, ED pharmacists, crisis intervention, social work, and case management
  • For those who like to teach, we work with medical students, APPs, and residents from Shenandoah, Frostburg, and other local programs

Qualifications:

  • Physician assistant board certification required
  • Current, unrestricted MD license with at least 2 years of emergency medicine experience preferred
  • ACLS/BLS/PALS required
  • Must be able to work independently

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fellow APPs and physicians in managing a thriving and very busy ED
  • We welcome the challenge of complex high-acuity cases. Our physician assistants practice at the top of their licenses with the support and collaboration of ED supervising physicians
