Join Our Cynthiana, Kentucky Team as a Nocturnist Physician Assistant

Bring better to the bedside in Cynthiana. In this role, you’ll combine clinical skill with purpose, delivering patient-centered care and driving performance in a supportive environment. You’ll have the autonomy to lead and the resources to grow—while making a difference for patients and families every day.

We are hiring for a nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • At Harrison Memorial Hospital, our strong, collaborative team includes 1 physician and 2 advanced practice providers (nocturnists), supported by a clinical performance nurse.
  • Work alongside a diverse group of clinicians, bringing unique geographic, educational, and training backgrounds. We continuously learn from one another to approach patient care with fresh perspectives. As a new full-time team member, you’ll contribute to a dynamic, compassionate environment that values effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Board-certified/eligible physician assistants.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • Our daytime team works 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, and our nocturnist APPs have a more flexible schedule. Ideally, we are looking for an average of 15 monthly shifts but are also open to part-time employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex cases in an open ICU setting with intensivist in-house consultation available, focusing on acute patient care and procedures (though procedures are not required).
  • Participate in hospitalist shifts, with APPs independently managing patients and admissions during the night shift under the supervision of a remote physician.
  • Engage in hospital growth initiatives, with opportunities to contribute to committees and medical staff efforts to shape the hospital's future.
  • Collaborate in quarterly team meetings, fostering continuous improvement and communication among team members.

Living and Working in Cynthiana:

  • Cynthiana, Kentucky offers residents a charming and welcoming environment, blending a rich historical heritage with a close-knit community spirit. Known for its picturesque downtown, historic homes, and the scenic Licking River, Cynthiana provides a tranquil backdrop for a relaxed lifestyle. The city’s annual events, like the Cynthiana Rod Run and the Walking Ghost Tour, contribute to a vibrant community life. • Our guiding principle is patient-first care, which means we’re focused on the people of Cynthiana and nearby areas. You’ll be part of a team that’s making a real difference in the health of our neighbors.

Compensation:

Hear from our team

  • Courtney

“Our advanced practice providers work in a team-based care model alongside their physician colleagues. They're driving the care for their patients, but at the same time, they have that physician collaborator there. If they have a question, if they need another set of eyes on the patient, the physician is there to do that. This provides our advanced practice providers with the support needed to practice at the top of their license.”

    April Burke,
    Chief Advanced Practice Officer
