We are hiring for both hospitalist and nocturnist positions. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit group of 12 physicians and 8 advanced practice providers (APPs) at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.
  • Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who are supportive and collaborative with other staff and departments.
  • We have a great relationship with our medical staff office; they are very efficient and helpful during the privileging process. We have multiple committees that our providers can lead or join.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible physician assistant.
  • Hospitalist experience preferred; Hospitalist training required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • Flexible scheduling is available. Full-time positions follow a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation.
  • Shifts for the day position are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Night schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out. We all have a common goal and help each other by switching shifts if someone needs a day off on their scheduled work week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Day clinician, your responsibility will encompass rounding on approximately fourteen patients per shift and discharging when appropriate, while our night clinician will perform 3 admissions in addition to cross coverage.
  • The hospital has a closed ICU with intensivists on hand 24/7. So, procedures or codes are not required.
  • We are entertaining candidates looking for full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts.
  • We use EPIC EMR and have access to our internal informatics platform.

Compensation:

  • The base salary for days is $140k—$150k, and for nights, it is $170k
    • We are offering a commencement bonus of $25,000 for the nocturnist position.
    • Both positions have an opportunity for bonuses based on performance and growth.
