Local Team Collaboration:

  • We take pride in our well-established team of intensivist physicians and ICU acute care advanced practice providers (APPs) at SSM Health DePaul Hospital.
  • Work alongside a skilled team providing 24/7 on-site coverage in the 20-bed medical and 18-bed surgical ICU, caring for patients across various specialties, including medical, surgical, neuro, cardiac, and cardiovascular.
  • Our team brings a diverse mix of ICU clinical practice experience to deliver high-quality, collaborative care.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO).
  • Ability to obtain a Missouri license.
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate proficiency in all technical skills required in critical care.

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Full-time physicians work an average of 15 monthly shifts, typically in block shifts of 4 to 5 days at a time.
  • We collaborate to manage the schedule as equitably as possible, ensuring intensivists achieve an outstanding work/family life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the ICU, working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care. The ICU operates as a closed unit, with co-management for cardiovascular ICU patients.
  • Collaborate with subspecialty back-up, rapid response teams, and code blue teams to ensure efficient and effective patient management.
  • We will utilize EPIC and our internal informatics platform for streamlined communication and patient data management, contributing to an organized and collaborative care environment.
