Local Team Collaboration:
- Join our established team at Heart Hospital of Austin.
- Heart Hospital of Austin is home to one of the largest non-academic cardiovascular research programs in the world. Our hospital has been named a 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in the nation by IBM Watson Health for 12 years running. Additionally, for four consecutive years, Healthgrades has awarded St. David’s Medical Center (which includes Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital) the America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award.
- 14-bed CVICU with mostly cardiac critically ill patients, although we do have general ICU cases. We have an advanced heart failure program with a growing ECMO and LVAD services.
- Excellent team culture and collaboration with consultants and ancillary staff. Extremely manageable workload. Typically 1-2 admissions overnight.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license or eligible to become licensed in Texas.
- Must be proficient in performing ICU procedures (intubations, arterial lines, and central lines).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling:
- Block schedule.
- Advanced Practice Providers work 15-night shifts per month on average. We work together to make a monthly schedule that we can all agree upon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing care to patients in the ICU.
- Admit patients to the ICU and perform procedures.

The metro area is home to banner music festivals like Austin City Limits, a two-weekend-long fall event featuring major headliners and lesser-known acts, as well as South by Southwest.
- Those who are looking for a great dining experience will enjoy Austin’s bustling culinary scene, featuring an endless array of BBQ and food trucks, as well as fine dining restaurants.
- Outdoor amenities are endless – spend the day on Town Lake, or cool off at Barton Springs, a natural pool fed by underwater springs. A booming job market and excellent schools make Austin a wonderful place for families.

Trainee :
Start your journey as a new graduate or transition to an unfamiliar role by completing a structured clinical training program focused on developing essential competencies for high-quality patient care. This training is supplemented by a self-directed didactic curriculum to build a knowledge base and support ongoing professional growth.

Practicing :
Continue your career as a practicing clinician by continually expanding your clinical expertise and delivering exemplary patient care. Develop foundational leadership skills and contribute to organizational excellence by engaging in committees and supporting the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Single-site Leadership :
Assume leadership responsibilities at the practice level as a Lead Advanced Practice Provider, Associate Medical Director, or Medical Director. In these roles, you will oversee clinical teams, collaborate with hospital partners, and ensure both operational and clinical excellence within a single-site setting.

Expand your impact by supporting multiple practices as a Regional or Divisional Lead Advanced Practice Provider. These roles emphasize the recruitment and retention of Advanced Practice Providers and facilitate team integration initiatives.
