We are hiring for a Nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Become part of a cohesive and long-standing team at Sutter Delta
  • Work alongside a tele-ICU Intensivist to provide care for the ICU patients at night, with additional support from an Intensivist on call

Qualifications:

  •  Active Physician Assistant certification.
  •  Active California license preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of complex cases, including critical interventions such as intubations, central lines, arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, temporary hemodialysis catheter placement, mechanical ventilation management and lumbar puncture.
  • Prior experience practicing in the ICU as an acute care trained nurse practitioner- no new graduates.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • 12-hour, onsite day Intensivist coverage, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Advanced Practice Provider 12-hour, onsite night coverage, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. in collaboration with tele-ICU and Intensivist physician on-call at night.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to patients in the 12-bed medical/surgical ICU.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients including procedures. They will present and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU, work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team, committing to excellence in clinical service while demonstrating problem-solving abilities necessary to serve our patients first.

Compensation:

  • Annual salaried compensation with sign-on bonus; $187,200 - $224,640 clinical salary based on 10 - 12, 12-hour night shifts per month.

    Start your journey as a new graduate or transition to an unfamiliar role by completing a structured clinical training program focused on developing essential competencies for high-quality patient care. This training is supplemented by a self-directed didactic curriculum to build a knowledge base and support ongoing professional growth.

  • Practicing :

    Continue your career as a practicing clinician by continually expanding your clinical expertise and delivering exemplary patient care. Develop foundational leadership skills and contribute to organizational excellence by engaging in committees and supporting the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Single-site Leadership :

    Assume leadership responsibilities at the practice level as a Lead Advanced Practice Provider, Associate Medical Director, or Medical Director. In these roles, you will oversee clinical teams, collaborate with hospital partners, and ensure both operational and clinical excellence within a single-site setting.

  • Multi-site Leadership :

    Expand your impact by supporting multiple practices as a Regional or Divisional Lead Advanced Practice Provider. These roles emphasize the recruitment and retention of Advanced Practice Providers and facilitate team integration initiatives.

  • Specialty Leadership :

    Advance to senior leadership as Chief Advanced Practice Officer, where you will collaborate with service line leaders to influence organizational programs and lead initiatives that develop team-based care models on a national scale.
