We are hiring for a full-time nocturnist position. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.
Local Team Collaboration:
- We take pride in our well-established team at Texas Health Allen. Day Intensivist coverage with night 12-hour Advanced Practice Provider coverage.
- Provide care to patients in the 8-bed, closed ICU.
Qualifications:
- Board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior ICU APP practice time- minimum of 2-years post training ICU practice including performing ICU procedures and experience with managing ventilator patients.
- Licensed to practice in Texas.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling:
- 15, 12-hour night shifts per month, block shift scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to medical / surgical / cardiac / ICU patients.
- Demonstrate autonomous care within an ICU setting with support from a full complement of medical subspecialists; demonstrate ability to work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.
- Commit to excellence in the clinical service and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary to best serve our patients.
- Must provide evidence of procedural competence with the following procedures: central lines, arterial lines, intubations and chest tubes.
- EMR is Epic.

- Allen, Texas is a northern suburb of Dallas and a destination hub for young professionals and families. The public schools in Allen are highly ranked, making it a desired area for families. Allen is within easy commuting distance of Dallas, Frisco and Plano.
- Texas Health Presbyterian Allen is a short-term acute care hospital established in 2000. Texas Health Allen meets the needs of the Allen community by providing advanced care orthopedics, back and spine, cardiology and sports medicine.
Rewards and Compensation:
- Competitive, salary-based compensation based on 15, 12-hour shifts per month.
