Local Team Collaboration:
- Join a friendly, collaborative emergency medicine team of 16 physicians and 9 advanced practice providers (APPs).
- Enjoy strong partnerships across the hospital, including a solid working relationship with Sound’s hospitalist program.
- Work in a stable nursing environment with excellent support—our nurses and ED staff are experienced, engaged, and great to collaborate with.

- ED pharmacist and ED-dedicated case manager on site to support patient care, placement, financial assistance, and follow-up needs.
- Accountable, on-site leadership: a local medical director who knows the community and owns the department's performance, supported by Sound's leadership-development tools.
- Stable, well-staffed teams: cohesive teams aligned on our patient-first culture of excellence, which means less reliance on premium temp labor and more predictable shifts.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified/eligible in emergency medicine.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling:
- Full-time commitment as an independent contractor requires 120 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care at Aiken Regional Medical Center, a 273-bed community hospital with a 30-bed emergency department, certified as a chest pain and stroke center.
- Volume: 43K annual visits with 39 hours of daily physician coverage and 30 hours of APP coverage.
- Deliver emergency care at The ER at Sweetwater, a 10-bed freestanding emergency department in North Augusta, GA.
- Volume: 23K annual visits with 24 hours of physician coverage and 12 hours of APP coverage daily.
- Engage in teaching opportunities with APP students and internal/family medicine residents.
- Be part of a supportive, stable, and innovative team that genuinely cares about the community it serves.
