Post-Acute Telemedicine Physician – Nights and Weekends (Virtual)
To our prospective teammates,
I am the national medical director for Sound Telemedicine Post Acute. I have been a part of Sound for over four years. I am proud of the post-acute telemedicine practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians and experienced APPs. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:
People
- We are a closely-knit, established team of 50 physicians
- Our physicians mostly come from generalist training (IM, FM) and can have a diverse set of prior clinical experiences including hospital-based practices, outpatient clinics, or post-acute facilities like nursing homes.
- Our providers are located across the country and can work from home while serving a much-needed population in post-acute facilities like nursing homes to prevent unnecessary ER visits and unnecessary hospitalizations.
- Many of our physicians have a strong interest in the geriatric population, subacute population, complex patient care, value-based care models, and innovation, and have a growth mindset interested in serving an underserved population.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex patients who are in post-acute care environments like nursing homes and need increased physician engagement cross-coverage model via telemedicine and availability after hours on evenings, nights, and 24/7 on weekends and holidays.
- This model requires a Compact/IMLCC and 3+ licenses in the states of CA, FL, NY, MA, CT, MD, VA, NJ, PA, NC, and SC. Due to licensing timeframes, top consideration will be given to candidates with a California license and active DEA.
- This is a Full-time opportunity (120 hours/month).
- We meet monthly as a group for practice changes or group updates.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families and working from home helps each of the providers in this group meet their personal and professional needs.
- We offer a flexible schedule that is released in advance so that you can plan your other commitments. We cover for each other when we are out.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
- There is a unique opportunity to be part of innovative growth in a unique telemedicine practice that intersects with the post-acute environment.
- We are a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
Requirements
- MD or DO, board-certified in IM or FM with 3 years of hospitalist experience (Additional experience in Post-Acute/SNF also welcome)
- Prior experience in Telemedicine is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a desire to learn
- Minimum Compact/ IMLCC and 3+ licenses in the states of CA, NY, FL, MA, CT, MD, VA, NJ, PA, NC, and SC – preferences given to candidates who have California plus a high number of the other states listed above and the Compact.
- A full-time position with benefits, 401K with match, and malpractice with tail coverage included
- Shifts are overnight and weekend hours (25% of your monthly scheduled hours will be overnight 11pm-11am).
- Technology protocol, workflow, and EMR training provided
