Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Bellingham, WA

To prospective teammates,

I’m the medical director for PeaceHealth St. Joseph in Bellingham, Washington. I have been a part of Sound Physician for over two years. I’m proud of the hospital medicine practice we have built and welcome interest from new grad APPs seeking their first job or experienced APPs desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People
  • We are a closely knit, established team of 22 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers, with the support of clinical performance nurses.
  • Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
  • We encourage providers to do committee work to get involved in decision-making and process development that impacts our team and patients.
  • We have a strong water cooler vibe within the team and enjoy sharing treats from our far-off travels. We love our holiday parties held at a team member’s home on the lake!
  • We prefer experienced providers but will consider new grad AGACNPs. FNPs must have previous hospitalist experience.
Practice
  • Our hospital bylaws allow NPs to practice independently to the full scope of their licensure
  • We work in a closed ICU setting with full subspecialty support. Our team is not required to run codes or perform procedures.
  • We have a great PNW vibe – our consultants are great to work with and have a great attitude about anything from answering simple quick questions to getting deeply involved in challenging cases
  • We are currently recruiting for a full time nocturnist APP. We care deeply about our providers thriving in their personal lives, so we offer a flexible schedule and do our best to give people the time off that they request.
  • Base salary compensation for this role is $180K+
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is key feature of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
