Hospital Medicine Medical Director – Increased Comp! – Billings, MT

To our prospective teammates,

I’m the interim medical director for St. Vincent Medical Center in Billings, Montana. I’ve been a part of Sound for a year, helping maintain and grow our hospitalist programs nationwide. I am proud to acknowledge that Montana has been ranked the #1 overall state for physicians to practice in, according to WalletHub. We welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers coming out of training or looking to make a career change. I want to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options.

  • We’re a closely knit, established 22 physicians, six APPs, and a clinical performance nurse.
  • Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
  • We want our clinicians to have a voice. We are proud of how well we work together and collaborate within the team and other departments. We look after each other, and the relationships are strong.
  • The hospital is a not-for-profit, 286-bed hospital with a closed ICU setting. Procedures aren’t required.
  • We are looking for a hospital medicine medical director to manage the hospital team hired by the hospital.
  • We have an excellent compensation package. We recently increased our overall compensation package.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • Path to Partnership™ program for medical director employed physicians – at year one, the partnership is evaluated, and partners can double their productivity bonuses.
  • We are proud to support a diverse group of providers by sponsoring J1 visa candidates. Sound offers excellent in-house visa specialists, along with licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for visas are covered by Sound.
  • Our hospitalist practice is very collaborative, and our hospitalists participate in multiple hospital committees. Some of our hospitalists serve as physician advisors.
  • We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group. Our team members find a committee that they are passionate about, and they serve on them. This gives clinicians the ability to collaborate and bring good change. We feel that your job should be rewarding.
  • Transportation and housing challenges are seen within our community. Our team involves social workers and case managers early in a patient’s hospital course to address SDOH.
  • Our team participates in many community events and fundraising events.
