    Natividad Medical Center is a 172-bed Level II Trauma Center and is the only teaching hospital on the Central Coast, through its affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Recognized nationally and internationally as a model program, Natividad’s Family Medicine Residency Program is postgraduate training for physicians specializing in family medicine. Natividad is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is governed by a Board of Trustees, under the guidance of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.

    • Team of 8 physicians, and a clinical performance nurse
    • Academic teaching program – work with medical students and residents
    • Closed ICU; closed during the day with intensivist coverage; Sound hospitalists manage at night
    • No night shift obligation
    • Three years of hospitalist experience required; internal medicine trained physician preferred and previous leadership experience strongly preferred

    Home to an amazing Mediterranean climate, this area offers coastal access and a beautiful scenic landscape that can be found nowhere else in the country! An hour south of San Jose, an hour and forty-five minutes south of San Francisco, and twenty-five minutes to Monterey, this community is in a coastal and rich farming region. Salinas is an affordable family-oriented community, offering cultural, education, and entertainment opportunities. Salinas is a friendly community with patients who are grateful and appreciative of the medical services they are provided. Monterey County is also home to nearly 75 wineries including well-known names such as Blackstone, Chalone, Estancia, and Hess.
