Local Team Collaboration:
- Become part of a cohesive and dedicated team of four intensivist physicians providing on-site day coverage in the 32-bed ICU, caring for medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients.
- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team within the unit to collaboratively deliver exceptional patient care, leveraging a diverse mix of clinical practice expertise.
Qualifications:
- We are seeking board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO) who possess or can obtain an Illinois license, commit to excellence in clinical service, are forward-thinking and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary in the ICU, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member and perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.
- Physicians must have 2-3 year post Critical Care fellowship ICU practice time
Practice in the Heart of the Community
Flexible Scheduling:
- Full-time physicians work an average of 15 monthly shifts, with a block shift schedule, generally in 4-5 day stretches.
- Part-time and per diem (PRN) physicians are scheduled as needed and available.
- We work together to manage the schedule as equitably as possible, providing intensivists with an outstanding work/family life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide critical care in the ICU, focusing on medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients. Sound tele-ICU and onsite critical care fellows cover nights.
- Collaborate closely with critical care fellows, internal medicine residents, and other professionals in a teaching hospital environment, emphasizing continued learning and research.
- Work in a closed ICU unit, with the exception of co-management of cardiovascular ICU patients.
- Utilize EPIC and the hospital’s internal informatics platform to ensure efficient and accurate patient care documentation.
