Sound is seeking an experienced critical care advanced practitioner to join our established team in Austin, Texas!
St David’s North Austin Medical Center is a 440-bed acute care facility and level IV trauma center with excellent women’s health services, a heart and vascular center, neurology and neurosurgery programs, and a kidney transplant program. Roughly 1/3 of all deliveries in Austin happen at our hospital.
People
- We’re a closely-knit, established team of two Intensivists and two advanced practitioner(s) in Austin, Texas.
- Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
- Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure smooth transition of care. And many of us are active in community health initiatives through the hospital.
Practice
- We’re looking for candidates with at least 2 years of critical care experience in the scope of Acute Care NP or Physician Assistant who are skilled at arterial and central lines and intubations.
- We have one Intensivist during the day with one APP overnight providing care in a 24 bed Med/Surg ICU. The Intensivist is available telephonically and can/will return to the ICU.
- Our ICU population is primarily medical, although we get some post-op surgery, and will likely see an increase in cardiac volume as the hospital is relaunching their cardiac surgery program.
- The APP averages 1-3 admissions overnight. We respond to codes along with the ER Physician. We do not participate in rapid response.
- This is a collegial team to work with and we have excellent rapport with the Hospitalist, ER Team, and specialists.
- Compensation is $185,000 annually working 15-night shifts per month.
