Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Portland, OR

To prospective teammates,

I am the medical director for CRNAs at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. I have been a part of Sound since we took over anesthesia responsibilities in November 2023. I’m proud of the anesthesia practice we have built and welcome interest from CRNAs coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options.

People
  • Our team is collaborative and courteous to each other as we work toward one common goal: providing prudent, compassionate, and equitable care to all patients.
  • Most providers are seasoned and well-versed in all subspecialties of anesthesia.
  • We believe that leadership does not need to be hierarchical. We encourage leading by example in providing prudent, compassionate, and equitable care to all, while courteously collaborating with team members is paramount to the success of an operation. Everyone is equally important on this team. Holding high work ethics and emotional intelligence are key to having a cohesive team and thus are essential qualities in team members.
Practice
  • Truly respectful colleagues of all disciplines. A low-level of stress environment. And a general sense of belonging to something that is craving a change for the better.
  • We have a plan to gradually increase the capacity of our care of surgical patients and provide better pain management that will lead to less dependence on opioid medications which has paramount consequences for the community.
  • Most of us like to spend time with our families or the outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when one of us is out.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
