Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Night Shift) – Mount Sterling, KY

To prospective teammates,

I’m the medical director for the Sound Physicians hospitalist practice at St. Joseph Mount Sterling, located in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. I have been a part of Sound for six years. I continue to be impressed by the dedicated and cooperative team we’ve built. I welcome interest from physician assistants and nurse practitioners coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about our approach to patient care, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

  • We are a closely knit, established team of two physicians and three advanced practice providers, with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
  • Our team members reside in various communities in Kentucky, including Richmond and Lexington.
  • We are an integral part of the committees and function of the hospital because this is a small facility. Every member of the team has active membership in hospital committees.
  • Our team members do spend time together outside of work. Some of us are neighbors in the same community.
  • We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU.
  • Our hospitalist APPs play a vital role on the team by helping with admissions and managing patients with a supervising physician.
  • Our monthly team meetings allow us to connect about what’s happening in our practice, at St. Joseph Mount Sterling, and across Sound Physicians.
  • Most of us like to spend time with our families, and schedules can be flexible by arranging coverage with one another.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of our medical group, where you have opportunities to expand your career locally or within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.

Mount Sterling, Kentucky, is known for its charming small-town atmosphere, friendly community, and slower-paced lifestyle that offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. Additionally, the town’s proximity to the scenic Red River Gorge and the Daniel Boone National Forest provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, making it an appealing destination for nature enthusiasts.
