Residents & Fellows
Sound Compass Program
Sound developed the Compass Program for clinicians who demonstrate early signs of leadership in their residency or fellowship training. This program is ideal for equipping the next generation of Sound leaders by providing a fast track for career growth. Compass clinicians receive mentorship and collaboration with thought leaders, driving innovation and improving patient outcomes across the organization.
Program Components:
- Core development curriculum focused on teamwork, innovation, patient experience, transitions of care, leadership, and advanced care planning.
- Registration at a specialty-specific association annual meeting
- Consideration for Sound’s Emerging Leaders (EmLe) program, an intensive 12-month peer leadership curriculum for those with high potential for leadership
- Monthly training stipend in consideration of an early commitment to Sound
We welcome the following individuals to apply:
- Chief residents
- Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs)
- Physicians who have completed a master’s program in business administration or a healthcare-related field
- Clinicians whose military service has required leadership training and experience
- Residents or fellows who have demonstrated great potential for leadership through their committee involvements
Application Process
We encourage all interested clinicians to apply. The Compass program runs from April through March for the following year (12 months). Clinicians are encouraged to apply online, and applicants will be evaluated by Sound leaders. A limited number of applicants are accepted into the program each year.
