Nocturnist – East Norriton, PA

To our prospective teammates,

As the medical director for Sound’s hospitalist team at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital in East Norriton, Pennsylvania, I’m proud of the hospital medicine practice we’ve built. Our program is located about 20 miles outside of Philadelphia, and we welcome interest from physicians looking to grow their career through enhancing their clinical and leadership skills. Our organization builds great local medical practices by focusing on our people, practice, and purpose.

People
  • Our supportive and dynamic team of 16 physicians is well-established and has built a reputation for collaborating with other hospital departments to bring the best possible quality of care to our patients.
  • Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who are dependable and flexible. You can count on them to follow through.
  • Many of us are active on hospital committees. Our involvement helps solidify our relationships with specialists and our very supportive C-suite.
  • I believe in letting the team practice medicine and assist when needed with adequate direction.
  • Enhancing the patient experience, our clinical performance nurse plays a pivotal role in assisting you throughout the care process.
  • Ours is a small, eight-year-old community hospital that consists of 192 beds. The facility has all private rooms and excellent subspecialty support. With the size of the hospital, you really get to know the staff and specialists.
  • East Norriton is an affordable community, rich in history, and a great place to raise a family.
Practice
  • The hospital has a closed ICU with Sound Physicians’ intensivists. We’re looking for board-certified/eligible physicians, preferably with academic experience. Internal and family medicine physicians are welcome to apply.
  • As a Nocturnist, you will supervise the residents (average 12 admissions), perform 2 to 3 admissions, and handle non-teaching floor calls. All procedures are performed by the intensivist team and interventional radiology.
  • Our hospitalist team is part of the rapid response and code team, and we’re all certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support. The residents will manage rapid responses and codes with your supervision until the intensivist arrives.
  • Our team meets monthly to relay key information from administration, discuss group operations, and for general feedback.
  • The schedule is 5 nights on/ 10 nights off.
  • We work in Cerner with Dragon for dictation, and we have access to our own internal informatics platform.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance. You have the ability to secure your future with our Path to Partnership track.
  • Our retention rate is great, and we work collaboratively within our team to ensure coverage for time off.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • Our residents care about the community and participate in a free medical clinic.
  • I’ve been at Einstein Montgomery for six years and have stayed with Sound because of my colleagues and the clinical and operations support we provide.
  • We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
