Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Nocturnist – Bardstown, KY

To prospective teammates,

I’m the medical director for Sound’s hospitalist practice at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, Kentucky. I have been a part of Sound Medical Group for five years and welcome interest from advanced practice providers (APPs) coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People
  • We are a closely knit, established team of three physicians and three advanced practice providers (APPs), with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
  • We are a culturally diverse practice with a good balance of experienced providers and new graduates.
  • We have a strong partnership with our hospital administration and collaborate frequently on committees and projects to improve the function of our hospital and provide excellent patient care.
  • We have a supportive practice with frequent touch bases at work and social gatherings outside the hospital.
Practice
  • We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in ICU, med surg., and TCU units.
  • We look forward to our friendly and collaborative monthly team meetings.
  • Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
